The Broncos are starting to get healthy at safety. They activated P.J. Locke off injured reserve Saturday, meaning he’ll join Justin Simmons (hip/groin) in returning to action Sunday against the New York Jets.Locke dislocated his big toe late in training camp and spent time in a walking boot before starting rehab work. Though head coach Sean Payton initially downplayed the injury, saying Locke would “be fine,” the Broncos placed Locke on injured reserve after the roster cutdown to 53 players. That move made him ineligible to return until this week. Over the past couple of weeks, he’s been moved without limitation during the open portions of practice and backed that up by jumping right into work as a full participant in practice on Wednesday. Now he can work back into game action on special teams and perhaps in rotation at safety with Simmons, who has missed the past two games himself due to injury, and Kareem Jackson.Denver had a roster spot open for Locke after...Wiley Fire threatens community in Solano County

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) — Jayden Daniels shredded the Missouri defense with his arm and legs Saturday, rallying LSU from a big early deficit, and none of that should have been surprising given the way the quarterback has played this season. The fact that No. 23 LSU’s defense made two crucial stands in the final minutes? That certainly raised some eyebrows.Yet after watching Daniels throw for 259 yards and three touchdowns, and run for 139 yards and a score, it was that same battered bunch that allowed more than 700 yards to Mississippi last week that stepped up to preserve the 49-39 victory over No. 21 Missouri.“We were battling,” said LSU coach Brian Kelly, whose team trailed 22-7 early. “All I know is when we got down, I just felt like the way the game was going, if we just got one more score, we could get back into it. I knew we were settling in defensively. Felt like we had a chance to get back in the game and win it. I didn’t lose that confidence.”Still, LSU was dow...Lafayette ends 12-game losing streak to Tigers, wins at Princeton for first time since 1982

Cuando su compañero de equipo, el mexican...Instant analysis from Orioles’ 3-2 loss to Texas Rangers in Game 1 of ALDS

Here’s what The Baltimore Sun sports staff had to say immediately after the Orioles’ 3-2 loss to the visiting Texas Rangers in Game 1 of the best-of-five American League Division Series on Saturday at Camden Yards.Childs Walker: Kyle Bradish was sharp in his postseason debut, striking out nine Rangers and walking just one, but this Texas offense is good enough to beat even a top pitcher who’s on form. What else can you say about a team that led the American League in runs scored and then added a mature, scorching hot prospect in Evan Carter? The Orioles, meanwhile, made life too easy for Rangers starter Andrew Heaney and those who followed him, failing to work deep into at-bats or make hard contact with runners on base. They’re in a tough spot in the series, with Texas’ top pitcher, Jordan Montgomery, up Sunday. They will need their own Game 2 starter, Grayson Rodriguez, to step up as he did three weeks ago in a crucial series against the Tampa Bay...Colin Fisher, Boston Latin run to victory at the Bay State Invitational
