United Airlines departures have resumed after being halted nationwide for a brief time Tuesday because of a technology outage.Federal officials said that United crews had been unable to contact airline dispatchers through normal means.“United asked the FAA to pause the airline’s departures nationwide,” the Federal Aviation Administration said on X, the social media site formerly known as Twitter.The FAA said the issue was limited to United and its subsidiaries. (KRON) -- A man and six juveniles were arrested for allegedly burglarizing a series of commercial businesses during a six-month period, according to the San Jose Police Department. More than two dozen businesses were burglarized, many of which were found to be "smoke shop" stores. Video from SJPD show the suspects using stolen Kia and Hyundai cars used to collide with the exterior of the businesses in order to gain entrance into each shop.The suspects would then steal merchandise before fleeing the businesses in their stolen car. According to SJPD, the suspects are believed to be responsible for additional commercial burglaries outside the City of San Jose.On Wednesday, the juveniles were arrested and booked into Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall following a search warrant for both their persons and residences. (KRON) -- Emery High School in Emeryville was evacuated Tuesday morning due to a possible gas leak, the Alameda County Fire Department confirmed. The smell of gas was reported just before 9 a.m. but according to PG&E, no gas leak was found. (KRON) -- A man is accused of committing an unprovoked attack against an elderly victim who was walking along Whitman Street in Hayward, Alameda County prosecutors said.James Lambert, 23, allegedly stabbed the 81-year-old victim, Francisco Gonzalez, eight times, according to the District Attorney's Office. "Witnesses reported that Lambert stabbed the elderly man eight times in the head and proceeded to strike him with a metal pipe while he lay on the ground," the District Attorney's Office wrote. The August 17 assault was finally halted when an off-duty security guard intervened. Gonzalez was rushed to Eden Medical Center, where he remained in critical condition on Tuesday. A suspect accused of killing his brother at their South Florida home was taken into custody.Officers with the Pembroke Pines Police Department arrived at the home, located at 311 SW 71st Ave. on Monday.According to police, the suspect, 61-year-old Donald Dubray, stabbed his brother, 63-year-old brother Edgar Dubray, to death. When officers arrived at the home, they found Donald sleeping inside. Officials said Edgar was in the process of evicting his brother from the house.
