CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Charlotte Hornets rookie Brandon Miller has been ruled out for the second half of Saturday night’s game against the Denver Nuggets after spraining his right ankle.Miller, the No. 2 overall pick in this year’s draft, was injured when he drove the lane and Denver’s Peyton Watson landed on his ankle as he came down. Miller hobbled to the locker room.Initially the team said he would return, but later updated the report, saying Miller was done for the night.Miller came into the game averaging 15 points and 4.1 rebounds for Charlotte, which has lost six straight games. (AP) — New Mexico State football coach Jerry Kill is stepping down after two successful seasons and will be replaced by receivers coach Tony Sanchez.Kill, who had health issues at a previous stop, announced his decision on Saturday.“This year has been tremendously difficult for me and I gave it everything I had physically, mentally and emotionally,” Kill said in a statement. “New Mexico State holds a special place in my heart as it marks the end of my journey as a head coach. While I’ll remain involved with the Aggies, I recognize the need for a head coach with a lot of energy. DENVER (KDVR) – A well-known Denver musician and his family will be spending Christmas in a hotel after a suspected electrical fire at their home on Monday.Eric Trujillo, who owns Mi Vida Strings in Westminster, said firefighters believe faulty wiring sparked the fire. Nobody was home at the time, and they were able to rescue all of their pets, but he said practically everything inside was destroyed."Nobody's ever ready to get a phone call like that, that your house is on fire," Trujillo said. "In essence, we've lost everything."The Trujillo family has been involved in Denver's music scene for decades.
